Hi folks! I know, I know. I'm terrible at this blogging thing. Oh well. We have strengths and weaknesses-this is surely the latter for me! Just wanted to pop in with a note since this is my busiest time of year and I certainly have nothing else to do! Seriously, the fall for a photographer is like tax season for a CPA. Crazytown! Everyone is thinking the same thing (including me!) - it's gorgeous out - look at the leaves - we need a family photo for holiday cards! Yes, 'tis the season for family portraits to gift grandma and of course the ever popular photo holiday card. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I LOVE capturing families this time of year in this beautiful fall light. But I'm going to let you in on a little secret! Although my clients all know I'm aiming for that framable, perfect, grandma-giving photo, it's really the photos that showcase a families' love and relationship that I long for! When an image pops up as I'm culling and there is belly laughter, silly faces or a classic eye roll, I LOVE it! Right there. My favorite of the whole session. When people laugh at me for giving so many images to my clients (too many to choose from!) that's the reason. I can't get rid of them--they are classic! So here ya go folks...a few of my very favorites. They won't make the Holiday card most likely and Grandma might not get a framed print, but they are forever on my heart!
Well, there you have it folks. My secret is out - forgive me while I go look through all that love and laughter again -- it's good for the soul!
So I realized today that it has been almost a whole year since I posted on my blog!! How did this come to my attention? Well, I just took photos of a special birthday girl turing 1...and yep, her newborn photos were the last posted pics on the blog!! Yikes! That was one fast year for sure. The busier I am, the faster it seems to go! Here's a little peek at Miss N's 1st year pics...she is a ham and so much fun to be around! (I have a soft spot for her parents too!)
The sweet girl was starting to get tired toward the end of the session, but we had something in store for her. She wanted nothing to do with more pictures, as you can see...
Sweet little bundles to cuddle--it never gets old. This little girl was super sweet and definitely competing for the title of best newborn client ever! She didn't fuss a bit, gave me some wide open eyes and then went to sleep. As long as that little hand could be up by her face she was happy. I always tell clients that babies feed off the emotions of their parents and it rang true here. Two laid back, relaxed and incredibly happy parents = super happy baby!
Congratulations on the new love of your life. She is just a perfect little pumpkin!
Do you remember this fun girl from a Milestone Session this past Spring? She was patiently waiting for the arrival of a sweet little sister.
This family was such a pleasure to work with. It is obvious how much the love their girls!
And what a precious baby. So sweet and calm. She did a great job!
When our friends, Brian & Stacy, told us they were expecting we were thrilled!! They are going to make the most wonderful parents! She is going to be one lucky and loved little baby girl! And when I was asked to photograph the shower, I had no idea there would be so many perfect little details to capture! The hostesses went above and beyond to make this a special day. And the momma-to-be was just glowing!
